How to Clean Printheads Without a Technician

  • What you need:

    • Paper towel or cotton ball
    • Small cup of warm water (or isopropyl alcohol)
    • Clean cloth
    • Optional: plastic gloves
    • Printer turned on and connected

    Method 1: Using Printer Software

    1. Open printer software on your computer
    2. Go to Maintenance or Service
    3. Select Print Head Cleaning
    4. Wait for the process to finish
    5. Print a test page

    You can repeat the process if needed.

    Method 2: Manual Cleaning

    1. Remove the ink cartridge carefully
    2. Check for dried ink on the printhead area
    3. Dip only the printhead area in warm water or alcohol for 10–15 minutes
    4. Wipe gently with a clean cloth or paper towel
    5. Let it dry for 10 minutes
    6. Reinstall the cartridge
    7. Print a test page

    Tips:

    • Never fully submerge the cartridge
    • Be gentle to avoid damage
    • Repeat cleaning only if necessary
